In today’s society gadgets are just about everywhere. As early as only 10 years previous, people had far fewer gadgets in their homes. Just how did people cope back then when you consider they did not have the amount of gadgets that they now have access to. As things have developed, the availability of the many gadgets has since increased.

So what gadgets do we use mostly nowadays, certainly the most common gadget that we have is the trusty mobile phone. We use our phones without thinking and it is clearly one of the most important tools that go wherever we go. There are that many people who are dependent upon their phones that without it they feel naked and as a consequence they use it so often in both home and work environments.

Another gadget that is common feature now in the home environment that certainly was not around as little as 10 years previously was the MP3 player. We can store thousands upon thousands of gadgets on our little mps players and listen o hours and hours of music. What’s more, the music’s sound quality is incredible and as good as CD’s.

As a child I was given a walkman for a birthday present and I was absolutely overjoyed when I was given it. It was a large, grey box with bright red headphones and I was delighted when I took it to school the next day. Today’s mp3 players are tiny comparatively and the sound is much improved on cassettes walkmans of old considerably.  Over the last 10 years MP3 players have also developed somewhat considerably. The first MP3 player I owned was quite a size, although, the sound was near perfect. The iphone is the latest gadget that many people are now frequently purchasing. I have an iphone and I struggle to comprehend how I managed before. With the iphone I am able to check the emails that I have been sent and this is so good for my business when customers need to get back to me. When I first go into computers I find it hard to think my phone would have the same power as my fist computer.

So many people have an inordinate amount of gadgets at home and that they carry around with them. Whilst over the last 10 years there has been a development in the gadget technology, over the next 10 years I would suggest that there will be even more development in line with technology development. When we look back from the year 2019 we will laugh at what we now consider cutting edge technology.
